Flux Pavilion
As Flux Pavilion, Joshua Steele, born in Towcester, England in 1989, has developed since the late 2000s electronic music centered on dubstep and bass music. His work strikes a balance between rhythmic impact, prominent melodies and song-like formats. Closely associated with the rise of Circus Records, the label he co-founded and on which he frequently collaborates with Doctor P, Flux Pavilion first gained attention with a series of singles and EPs such as Lines in Wax (2010), which includes 'I Can't Stop', and with 'Bass Cannon' in 2011. His starting point is a frontal dubstep often classified as brostep, but he has gradually moved toward a more hybrid writing style, between EDM, electro and vocal pop. This evolution is audible on the album Tesla (2015) and on .wav (2021), where he develops a more melodic sound without abandoning the bass register. Over the years he has also collaborated with artists like Example, Childish Gambino, Steve Aoki, NGHTMRE and Feed Me, while remaining a strong presence on the British and North American electronic scenes. The Fluxiverse Vol. 1 (2023) and Fluxiverse Vol. 2 (2024) projects continue this trajectory.
