Wooli
Based in the American bass scene since the mid-2010s, Wooli, aka Adam Louis Puleo, hails from Rochester, New York. His work sits between dubstep, riddim, briddim and more melodic incursions close to future bass and melodic dubstep, with a marked taste for contrasts between airy lines, emotional vocals and very massive drops. Wooli emerged in 2016 with a string of singles and remixes, before developing a clearer profile on labels connected to the dubstep and bass scenes such as Firepower, Circus, Never Say Die, Monstercat, Ophelia or Subsidia. His discography includes notably the EPs The Cave (2017), Mammoth (2018), Evolution with Excision (2019), Resurrection (2021), then Titans with Excision (2023). Over the years, Wooli has regularly collaborated with artists like Excision, Seven Lions, Trivecta, Kompany, Sullivan King or William Black, in a register that alternates very abrasive tracks and more melodic productions. Tracks like Island (2019) with Seven Lions and Trivecta, Another Me (2019) with Seven Lions and Excision, or Shadows (2021) show this dual approach. Present on both festival circuits and North American bass-focused tours, Wooli has built a project centered on rhythmic impact, dense textures and a writing that blends dubstep frontal assault with melodic sensibility.
