Jauz

Under the name Jauz, American producer and DJ Sam Vogel, originally from the San Francisco area and based in Los Angeles, established himself from the mid-2010s on the international bass-music scene. Trained in production at Icon Collective, Jauz drew attention with a hybrid approach to electronic music—between bass house, dubstep, trap and EDM—where massive basslines, house tempos and rhythmic breaks coexist in a format designed for clubs and festivals. After early tracks published online, he signed to labels such as Mad Decent and OWSLA, which connected him to the US and European scenes, and in 2017 he launched his own label, Bite This, to release his productions and those of artists close to his world. In 2018 Jauz released the concept album “The Wise and the Wicked”, which structures his aesthetic around several facets of bass music, ranging from dancefloor-oriented tracks to more melodic pieces. Regularly touring North America, Europe and Asia, Jauz adapts his sets between major electronic festivals and smaller clubs, carrying on stage the blend of bass house and dubstep sounds that characterizes his discography.
