Dillon Francis
Born in Los Angeles in 1987, Dillon Francis has been active since the mid-2000s on the American electronic scene, at the crossroads of moombahton, moombahcore, electro house, trap and bass music designed for both clubs and major festivals. His breakthrough in the early 2010s came with support from Diplo and tracks like "Masta Blasta", which helped take moombahton beyond its original circle, followed by the EP Swashbuckler in 2010 and Something, Something, Awesome in 2012. He then released the album Money Sucks, Friends Rule in 2014, the EP This Mixtape Is Fire in 2015 and WUT WUT in 2018, a project more oriented toward Latin influences and Spanish-language collaborations. His career has led him to work with DJ Snake, Martin Garrix, Major Lazer, Kygo and Brendon Urie, while maintaining a style built on staccato rhythms, very direct buildups and a marked taste for the intersections between EDM and urban genres. Present on stages like Coachella, Ultra and Electric Daisy Carnival, Dillon Francis also develops a more satirical side through his alter ego DJ Hanzel, which extends a public image closely tied to humor and internet culture.
