Baauer

Born in Philadelphia as Harry Bauer Rodrigues and having lived in Germany, London, Connecticut and then New York, Baauer emerged in the early 2010s on the American electronic scene with a production at the crossroads of trap, hip‑hop, grime and bass music. After initial tracks released under other aliases, Baauer issued the Dum Dum EP in 2012 on LuckyMe, the same year as "Harlem Shake," a track that became a viral phenomenon and quickly broadened his audience beyond clubs. He followed with the EP ß in 2014 and developed a style of jarring rhythms, prominent bass, vocal samples and influences from multiple international scenes. This work took a broader form on Aa in 2016, featuring guests such as Future, Pusha T, M.I.A., G‑Dragon, Novelist and Leikeli47, and later on Planet’s Mad in 2020. Over his career, Baauer has also collaborated with Just Blaze and RL Grime, produced remixes for Disclosure, Nero, The Prodigy and Gorillaz, and expanded into scoring for visuals, notably for the series Iron Fist.
