Nervo
Behind Nervo are Australian twins Miriam and Olivia Nervo, born in Melbourne and active since the mid-2000s in the space between pop songwriting and electronic music. Initially employed as songwriters and composers, they signed a publishing deal at a very young age and worked in London before establishing themselves in a style that links EDM, electro house and progressive house—productions calibrated for the club, very direct pop choruses and a clear festival energy. Nervo contributed to writing songs for Rachel Stevens, Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears, Sophie Ellis-Bextor as well as David Guetta and Kelly Rowland; the track “When Love Takes Over” marked a turning point in their career. At the same time the duo developed their own stage and recording project under the name Nervo, with singles such as “You’re Gonna Love Again”, “Hold On”, “Like Home” with Nicky Romero, and the album Collateral in 2015. In both their releases and DJ sets, Nervo blends highly readable melodic lines, progressive builds, pop vocals and straightforward house rhythms in an aesthetic designed for both large electronic stages and radio-club formats.
