Swapmeet

Based in Australia, Swapmeet brings together four musicians who develop together a melodic indie rock infused with slowcore, 1990s and 2000s alt rock, and a dreamy lyricism. The band began to attract attention with self-produced tracks before releasing the Oxalis EP in 2024, the first clearly identified discographic milestone, where already stretched guitars, restrained tempos, and a gentle tension between fragility and saturation appear. Swapmeet builds its songs through collaborative work, with members swapping instruments and sharing the development of the arrangements, giving their music a mobile texture, both airy and dense. Their debut album Mount Zero extends this direction with a broader sound, still centered on guitars, between wispy melodies, light noise edges, and contained emotion. In this repertoire, Swapmeet focuses on themes related to coming of age, first breakups, hesitations, and personal forks in the road, without giving up a form of sobriety in interpretation. Swapmeet’s trajectory thus sits within the Australian indie rock scene, attentive to moods, slow dynamics, and forms of intimate storytelling.
