Way Dynamic

Led by Australian musician Dylan Young, Way Dynamic has been developing an independent pop songwriting voice from Melbourne, focused on melodic, intimate songs. The project emerged in the late 2010s with a series of EPs and longer recordings that gradually established Way Dynamic within the local indie scene, balancing home production with occasional collaborations with other acts from the Australian scene. Way Dynamic’s music sits at the intersection of lo-fi pop, gentle rock and understated electric folk, featuring bright guitars, moderate tempos and a close vocal often supported by simple harmonies. Arrangements are generally spare but occasionally open up to layers of keyboards or denser guitars, giving the project an intimate yet slightly psychedelic character. In the studio Way Dynamic favors an autonomous working approach, while live the songs are adapted for a band lineup with a stronger dynamic between quiet passages and more emphatic sections, allowing Dylan Young to present Way Dynamic across small-venue settings and festival contexts.
