Geese

Formed in Brooklyn, New York, Geese brings together a quintet from the city’s high‑school scene that leans toward indie rock informed by post‑punk, art‑rock and psychedelia. Initially active through demos and self‑released recordings circulating online and locally, Geese honed a taste for compositions that are both nervous and winding, where angular guitars sit alongside shifting rhythms and vocals often delivered in a half‑spoken, half‑sung style. The release of their debut album Projector in 2021 on Partisan Records established this blend of post‑punk tension, skewed melodies and fragmented structures, with a marked attention to guitar textures and dynamic shifts. With 3D Country in 2023, also on Partisan, Geese broadened their palette by incorporating folk elements, hints of americana and more open passages, playing on the contrast between rock energy, wider choruses and psychedelic digressions. In concert, the band translates this writing into more extended versions, leaving room for improvisation while retaining the jagged, direct quality that defines Geese’s identity.
