Info
On July 3, 2027, Museum Gardens in York hosts a full-on trip through UK pop’s electronic and new wave DNA, led by The Human League. Still fronted by Philip Oakey alongside Joanne Catherall and Susan Ann Sulley, the Sheffield pioneers bring that signature mix of icy synth lines, tight machine rhythms and melodic hooks that shaped their shift from early minimal electronics to the sleek pop of the Dare era and beyond.
Go West add their London-made, chorus-driven pop rock with a blue-eyed soul edge, built for singalongs and clean, bright guitars.
Blancmange, steered by Neil Arthur, tap into sharp new wave grooves and dry keyboard patterns, with the off-kilter melodic twist that’s been part of their identity since the early ’80s.
Toyah rounds things out with her restless blend of post-punk bite, new wave drama and rock attitude, drawing on a catalogue that moves between punchy band energy and more theatrical turns.
