Tiffany

Born in Norwalk, California, Tiffany Darwish rose to prominence in the late 1980s as a teen pop artist blending dance-pop, pop rock and ballads, after early beginnings in the California country circuit and later in Nashville. Performing simply as Tiffany, she emerged in 1987 with the album Tiffany, best known for her cover of “I Think We’re Alone Now”, and for an unusual tour through American shopping malls that became a defining moment in her career. She followed with Hold an Old Friend’s Hand (1988) and New Inside (1990), where she shifted toward a more adult pop sound, sometimes tinged with soul and R&B. After Dreams Never Die (1993), released mainly in Asia, Tiffany spent time living in Nashville and developed her songwriting. Her comeback with The Color of Silence (2000) showed a more singer-songwriter direction, before she turned to dance on Dust Off and Dance (2005) and later to country with Rose Tattoo (2011). Tiffany has since maintained a steady presence on stage and in the studio with A Million Miles (2016), Pieces of Me (2018) and Shadows (2022), working in a register that crosses pop, melodic rock and American songwriting.
