Kim Wilde
Born in 1960 in Chiswick, west London, Kim Wilde grew up in a musical environment shaped by her father Marty Wilde’s career and made her debut at the turn of the 1980s amid the British new wave and synth-pop wave. With her brother Ricky Wilde writing and producing, Kim Wilde established a sound from the album 'Kim Wilde' (1981), then 'Select' (1982) and 'Catch as Catch Can' (1983) that combined prominent keyboards, pop-rock guitars and direct choruses. She evolved toward a more radio-friendly pop-rock on 'Teases & Dares' (1984), 'Another Step' (1986) and 'Close' (1988), before exploring a more adult pop register with 'Love Moves' (1990) and 'Love Is' (1992). Kim Wilde then put her recording career on hold in the mid-1990s, turning to television and gardening, while appearing in the musical 'Tommy' in 1996. Her return to the studio began with 'Never Say Never' (2006), which updated part of her repertoire, and continued with 'Come Out and Play' (2010), the covers album 'Snapshots' (2011), the seasonal project 'Wilde Winter Songbook' (2013) and 'Here Come the Aliens' (2018), marked by a blend of pop, melodic rock and nods to 1980s sounds. Still active onstage, Kim Wilde has since the 2000s played numerous tours and retro festivals across Europe, often accompanied by loyal musicians, including Ricky Wilde, in a family and artistic continuity that shapes her entire career.
