Boy Harsher is the American duo formed by Jae Matthews and Augustus Muller in 2014, and a distinctive way for them to fuse darkwave, EBM, industrial, and club electro. After the EP Lesser Man and its track “Pain,” which has become a classic for many, they followed with Yr Body Is Nothing (2016) and Country Girl (2017), before affirming their formula on Careful (2019). Tight synths, dry rhythms, melodies that loop, and a voice that is both cold and magnetic: their sound remains direct, minimal, but always charged with real tension. The duo also maintains a strong connection with imagery, extended in 2022 with The Runner, conceived as a dual project—a film and its soundtrack, written and produced from start to finish by themselves. A date that speaks as much to fans of dark nights as to curious listeners of electronic pop who like sharp edges.
