Bragolin
Led by Edwin van der Velde in the Netherlands, Bragolin has since the late 2010s developed a universe located between post-punk and dark wave, with a melodic writing nourished by the heavy lines inherited from the 1980s, the keyboards with a sixties and seventies esprit, and foggy guitars close to 1990s shoegaze. The project, whose name refers to the Italian painter Giovanni Bragolin, also draws from the imagery of post-apocalyptic cinema and horror, a sensitive aspect in its dark atmospheres and its cold tension. A first album, I Saw Nothing Good So I Left, was released in 2018 and quickly established Bragolin on the dark wave and gothic scenes with the track Into Those Woods. In 2019, van der Velde collaborated with Adam Tristar for Let Out the Noise Inside, a record that emphasizes the synthetic and electronic part of the project. Present in clubs as in festivals, Bragolin played notably at Wave-Gotik-Treffen, Amphi, Cold Hearted, Extramuralhas and Kalabalik, while also touring in South America. Since 2020, the project takes on stage the form of a duo with the arrival of Edwin Daatselaar on keyboards. A third album, I Don’t Like What It Does To Me, is announced for 2026.
