Info
On 21 June 2026 at Exchange, Bristol, Glare channel the Rio Grande Valley where they formed in 2017 into wide-angle shoegaze. Less about genre rules than mood and scale, their songs build hazy walls of guitar and slow-blooming melodies, the kind that feel like a desert horizon stretching on. Rooted in a DIY approach, they shape dense textures that hover between calm and unease, blurring the line between bliss and despair without losing focus.
Glixen, a Phoenix four-piece, land firmly in the current American shoegaze wave while stepping past its clichés. Their music leans heavy and immersive, stacking thick guitars and reverb-drenched tones around clear, steady vocals. The band nods to an earlier blueprint but pushes it forward, folding weight and melody into something modern that favours presence over nostalgia.
San Francisco trio Midrift — brothers Manoa and Kai Neukermans with Gus Merkam — thread alternative rock into a shoegaze core. Think pressure and drift: saturated riffs, restrained tempos, and vocals that switch from pop-clean to a rougher edge. Influences range from Deftones and Title Fight to Whirr and Smashing Pumpkins. A first self-titled EP in 2022 set the tone; since then they’ve toured California and Texas, sharing bills with Fiddlehead, Momma, Glare, Quannnic and Wisp.
