Glixen

Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Glixen operates as a quartet centered on singer Aislinn Ritchie and is part of the American shoegaze wave that emerged in the early 2020s. The band develops a sound that sits between shoegaze, dream pop and alternative rock, featuring thick guitars, heavily reverberant textures and a measured vocal that contrasts with the dense instrumentation. Glixen cites influences ranging from My Bloody Valentine and Hum to Björk, shaping songwriting where melodies remain clear beneath layers of saturation and noise. After a first EP, Glixen continues with quiet pleasures, their second short-format release, recorded at Pale Moon Ranch in Juniper Hills, California, produced by Sonny DiPerri and mastered by Dave Cooley. Through these releases Glixen refines an aesthetic that is at once introspective and physical, built on the balance between tension, vocal softness and misty atmospheres, linking shoegaze heritage with a more contemporary sensibility.
