Info

Young the Giant bring their melodic indie rock to KOKO in London on 8 October 2026. Formed in Irvine, California, the band grew out of a high school crew before settling on its name in 2009. Sameer Gadhia’s voice sits at the center, framed by the twin guitars of Jacob Tilley and Eric Cannata, the bass lines of Payam Doostzadeh, and the tight drums and harmonies of François Comtois. Across their albums, they’ve moved from guitar-forward anthems to broader textures: the debut laid the groundwork, Mind Over Matter opened the door to synth touches, Home of the Strange tackled identity and migration, Mirror Master leaned inward, and American Bollywood pushed deeper into diaspora themes and outside influences.

On stage, the group plays the contrasts that run through their catalog. Sharp riffs and steady grooves open onto big, singable choruses, then pull back for ballads with choral lift. Older staples can surface alongside recent chapters from American Bollywood, connecting punchy rhythms with more textured passages. In KOKO’s theatre setting, the set tends to breathe: guitars lock in, synths shade the edges, and vocal harmonies carry the room. A focused tour of their evolution, built for a live crowd that likes movement and melody.
