SOEN, the Swedish progressive metal outfit led by Joel Ekelöf (vocals) and Martin Lopez (drums), will be at L’Alhambra in Paris on 24 November 2026 to support Reliance, their seventh album. The band continues its clear line between density and space, with forceful riffs and finely honed melodies, taking a heavier turn on this new chapter. Around the duo are Lars Enok Åhlund (keyboards, guitar), Cody Lee Ford (guitar) and bassist Stefan Stenberg, who has returned to the lineup.
On stage, SOEN works with contrast: abrasive sections and tension build-ups give way to airier passages, without losing the coherence of a forward, clean vocal. The rhythm section holds the course, guitars layer over one another, keyboards open up the space, and a few rougher accents punctuate the whole. The writing is oriented toward detail and dynamics, extending live the trajectory outlined by Reliance while drawing on the repertoire of previous albums.
