Eric Serra
Eric Serra is a French composer and multi-instrumentalist whose signature sound has left a mark on several generations of filmgoers. A long-time collaborator of Luc Besson, he established himself in the 1980s with film scores that blend synths, electronic textures, organic percussion and instantly identifiable melodic themes. This distinctive approach is evident across several of his key albums, notably Le Grand Bleu — which became a cult and true discographic phenomenon — Nikita, Léon, Subway and The Fifth Element, whose futuristic, hybrid aesthetic is often cited as one of the most striking scores in contemporary French cinema. Serra also composed GoldenEye for the James Bond franchise, confirming his ability to move between European sensibilities and international blockbusters. With an eclectic career, a sound recognizable from a thousand, and a lasting influence on electronic film music, he remains one of the most iconic French composers of his generation.
