Noah Gundersen

Born in Olympia, Washington, and tied to the Seattle scene, Noah Gundersen has, since the late 2000s, developed a songwriting voice that sits between folk, Americana, indie rock and alternative pop. First active with The Courage, a family project formed with his siblings, he later pursued a solo path where the acoustic arrangements of his early work gradually made way for more electric textures and denser production. His debut album, Ledges (2014), established a spare register centered on voice, guitar and piano, before Carry the Ghost (2015) expanded his scope toward a broader folk-rock. With White Noise (2017) Gundersen emphasized a more direct alternative streak, which he continued on Lover (2019), A Pillar of Salt (2021) and If This Is the End (2023), where the intimacy of his writing is paired with darker forms, sometimes close to contemporary indie rock. Alongside his records, he has also collaborated with his sister Abby Gundersen and operated in circles where American songwriting, indie scenes and more orchestrated formats intersect, while maintaining a restrained approach to composition and lyrics.
