Pale Waves

Formed in Manchester, UK, in 2014, Pale Waves consists of singer‑guitarist Heather Baron‑Gracie, drummer Ciara Doran, guitarist Hugo Silvani and bassist Charlie Wood, blending indie pop, synth‑pop and pop rock. After early appearances under a different name, the band adopted the Pale Waves moniker and made a mark on the British indie scene before signing to Dirty Hit. The 2017 single “There’s a Honey,” produced with Matty Healy and George Daniel of The 1975, established a world of direct pop melodies, bright guitars and goth‑tinged imagery. The EP All the Things I Never Said (2018) and the album My Mind Makes Noises (2018) set the songwriting’s foundations—focusing on relationships, vulnerability and identity. With Who Am I? (2021) Pale Waves leaned into pop‑rock and 2000s influences, while Unwanted (2022) pushed the band further toward a more upfront pop‑punk and alternative rock sound. On stage, they cultivate an aesthetic of catchy guitars and immediate choruses, alternating headlining shows and opening slots—notably alongside The 1975—across venues and festivals in the UK, Europe and North America.
