Waterparks

Waterparks is a Texas trio built around Awsten Knight, a hyperactive singer-songwriter who propelled the band to the forefront of modern pop-punk through highly expressive songwriting, nervous humor and a keen sense of hook. From their beginnings, the band moved away from the genre’s traditional codes by injecting electro, hyperpop, emo and rap into a resolutely pop formula, producing a sound that’s chaotic but controlled, as colorful as the visuals that accompany it. After early acclaimed EPs, Waterparks broke through with the albums Double Dare and then Entertainment, which established their signature of huge choruses and productions saturated with detail. Fandom marked a more introspective, experimental turn, while Greatest Hits and Intellectual Property confirmed their ability to continually reinvent their own DNA, balancing raw confession, sarcasm and supercharged energy.
