LØLØ

Based between Toronto and Los Angeles, Canadian singer-songwriter LØLØ, born Lauren Mandel in 1997, creates a sound at the intersection of alternative pop, pop rock and pop-punk tinged with grunge. After starting out on Toronto's open-mic stages under the name Lo Lo, LØLØ released the single “Yours” in 2018, leading to the independent EP Sweater Collection in 2019. During the 2020 lockdown she significantly grew her audience with alternative-perspective covers on TikTok, then followed with several singles and signed a publishing deal with APG in 2021 and a record deal with Hopeless Records, for whom she released the EPs Overkill (2021) and Debbie Downer (2022). Her songwriting, nourished by diary entries, mixes catchy pop melodies, guitars rooted in 2000s rock and lyrics focused on relationships, vulnerability and self-deprecation. LØLØ has collaborated with artists such as Maggie Lindemann on “debbie downer” and with Girlfriends on “5, 6, 7, 8”, and has appeared at festivals like Lollapalooza, Sad Summer Festival and Slam Dunk, as well as touring with North American pop-punk bands. In 2024 LØLØ took a step forward with her debut album Falling for Robots and Wishing I Was One, also on Hopeless, which continues this blend of energetic pop-rock and introspective songwriting.
