The Aces
Formed in Provo, Utah, The Aces are an American indie-pop quartet featuring sisters Cristal and Alisa Ramirez alongside McKenna Petty and Katie Henderson, coming of age within the local club and DIY scene. After years honing a guitar-bass-drums setup anchored by prominent vocal melodies, The Aces drew attention in 2017 with the EP “I Don’t Like Being Honest,” establishing an alternative-pop-meets-pop-rock sound with a new-wave tint. Their debut album, “When My Heart Felt Volcanic” (2018), cemented a focus on direct verse-chorus writing, clean guitars, and tight rhythms, with lyrics centered on friendship, romance, and coming-of-age. The Aces followed in 2020 with “Under My Influence,” leaning further into synth-pop and R&B while keeping a strongly melodic core, and in 2023 with “I’ve Loved You For So Long,” a record that more openly explores intimacy, identity, and queer relationships. On stage, The Aces deliver an energetic yet approachable live show—aligned with indie-rock codes while remaining rooted in pop culture—touring clubs, landing support slots, and hitting festivals across the North American and international indie circuit.
