Noah Kahan
Born in 1997 in Strafford, Vermont, Noah Kahan has developed a songwriting style rooted in folk and acoustic pop, marked by introspective lyrics and a strong connection to New England’s rural landscapes. After releasing early demos online as a teenager, he attracted the attention of Republic Records and began issuing singles from 2017, including “Young Blood,” which established his mix of contemporary folk and radio-friendly pop. The 2018 EP Hurt Somebody, featuring a duet version with Julia Michaels, set the stage for his debut album Busyhead (2019), where Kahan refined a songwriting focus on relationships, solitude and coming of age. He followed with I Was / I Am in 2021, which leaned more toward pop, before returning to a more folk-oriented aesthetic on Stick Season (2022) and its expanded edition Stick Season (We’ll All Be Here Forever) in 2023, whose spare arrangements make more room for guitar and voice. Kahan has taken part in occasional collaborations—notably with Hozier and Post Malone—and built a career defined by regular tours across the US and Europe, with concerts that emphasize an intimate approach centered on singing and songwriting.
