Dove Ellis
Under the name Dove Ellis, Thomas O'Donoghue has been developing an indie-folk songwriting voice from Ireland, driven by voice and guitar in a register where acoustic songcraft meets an indie rock sensibility. Dove Ellis's first release appeared in 2024 as a self-released EP, To the Sandals, before a clear acceleration in 2025 with the single “To the Sandals,” followed by “Love Is” and “Pale Song,” issued on Black Butter and AMF. This sequence establishes Dove Ellis in a focused form of contemporary folk centered on melody and the song format, while retaining ties to a broader band context. In December 2025 Dove Ellis released Blizzard, a debut album that extends this aesthetic and marks the move to the long format. On stage, Dove Ellis notably opened for Geese during the Getting Killed World Tour and recorded a session at St. James’ Church for Other Voices in November 2025 — two milestones that place his trajectory between the independent live circuit and visibility on well-established Irish stages.
