Hotel Lux

Hotel Lux is a band originally from Portsmouth and now based in London, formed in 2017 and quickly noted for its abrasive blend of post-punk, spoken-word and social commentary. Drawn from the legacy of politically engaged British bands and the grey aesthetic of industrial towns, they established an early, acerbic and confrontational tone. Their early tracks, including The Last Hangman and English Disease, create a world where taut riffs and satirical narration sketch a battered England. In 2023 they released Hands Across The Creek, a debut album that consolidates their identity: ten tracks suffused with urgency, between lucid anger and biting observations of everyday life. With The Bitter Cup in 2025, Hotel Lux sharpens this social gaze further, addressing gentrification, class divides and political tensions with ever-more incisive writing, while never abandoning the raw energy that is their strength on stage.
