Info

Hotel Lux, five British musicians formed in 2018, quickly laid the foundations for a nervy, confrontational sound. With “The Last Hangman,” heard on the Peaky Blinders soundtrack, and “English Disease,” the band already drew a clear line between angular guitars and everyday storytelling. They will stop at Rock School Barbey in Bordeaux on March 8, 2026, for a concert marked by the socially minded songwriting that has followed them since their beginnings.

The first album, Hands Across The Creek, affirmed an uncompromising identity: abrasive energy, a cutting voice, and dark lyrics. The songs act as a satirical mirror of contemporary England, alternating between looks at the margins and evening vignettes—not far from a Ken Loach–style perspective.

The second album, The Bitter Cup, released on October 31, 2025, extends this thread with themes rooted in working-class realities, the effects of gentrification, and social fractures. On stage, Hotel Lux blends these new tracks with their signature numbers, moving between restrained tension and sudden surges, to deliver a raw and precise portrait of the city’s grey areas.
