Chris Stussy

Anchored in the Dutch house scene, Chris Stussy has developed since the mid-2010s a trajectory focused on production and DJing, spanning deep house, minimal and a pared-down form of tech-house. Based in the Netherlands, he first drew attention with a series of maxi releases on specialist labels before shaping his universe around a pronounced groove, supple basslines and understated melodic textures. His production work revolves around tracks conceived for the club, often built on long progressions and subtle rhythmic details, with nods to classic US house as well as more contemporary sounds. Alongside releases on various labels, Chris Stussy launched the Up The Stuss label, which became the main outlet for his productions while also hosting other artists from the same scene. Active on European and international club and festival circuits, he plays numerous dancefloor-oriented DJ sets and undertakes studio collaborations with producers from the European house and minimal scenes, consolidating a sonic identity that is immediately recognizable within contemporary electronic music.
