Mall Grab
Based between Australia and the United Kingdom, Mall Grab — the stage name of Newcastle, New South Wales–born producer and DJ Jordon Alexander — steadily emerged from the mid‑2010s lo‑fi house online scene. He released maxis on labels such as 1080p and followed with a rapid succession of releases that circulated widely in clubs. Mall Grab later established his own framework with the label Steel City Dance Discs, and subsequently Looking For Trouble, platforms where he refined an aesthetic blending raw house, percussive breakbeats, uptempo techno and clear references to rave and UK garage sounds. His DJ sets, which have taken him to club and festival stages across Europe, the UK and Australia, adopt a direct, energetic approach, shifting seamlessly from house into jungle and trance textures. In 2022 Mall Grab released the album What I Breathe, further expanding his palette with more melodic tracks, ambient textures and several vocal collaborations, while retaining a focus on massive rhythms and crafted nocturnal atmospheres.
