HMLTD

Formed in London in 2015 under the name Happy Meal Ltd., HMLTD brings together a band around singer Henry Spychalski, a group whose trajectory was forged in the London scene between art rock, post-punk, glam rock and experimental rock. The project quickly occupies a distinctive place with a nerve-wracking, theatrical and ever-changing writing, where angular guitars cross deformed pop structures, electronic flourishes, and a pronounced taste for staging. HMLTD released the EP Hate Music Last Time Delete in 2018, followed by their first album West of Eden in 2020, at a time when the band underwent several reshuffles and reworked its operations after a stint with a major label. The core formed by Henry Spychalski, Duc Peterman, Nicolas Mohnblatt and Achilleas Sarantaris evolves thereafter with the arrival of Seth Evans on keyboards. In 2021, HMLTD released the EP Don't Leave Me, before developing a more narrative and ambitious approach on The Worm in 2023. Between punk tension, glam references and a taste for experimentation, HMLTD works a dense, often unstable sound, blending irony, dramatization and a sense of contrast without settling into a single register.
