I Don't Know How But They Found Me

Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, I Dont Know How but They Found Me, often shortened to iDKHOW, began in 2016 as a duo formed by Dallon Weekes and Ryan Seaman and became Dallon Weekes’ solo project in 2023. The act gained notice through a deliberately secretive presentation, with early shows played without formal announcement, followed by a string of 2017 releases including “Modern Day Cain” and “Choke.” I Dont Know How but They Found Me operates between indie pop, new wave, pop rock and electronic rock, featuring prominent basslines, vintage keyboards, pop melodies and an aesthetic informed by 1970s glam and 1980s synth-pop. After the EPs 1981 Extended Play (2018) and Christmas Drag (2019), the project released the album Razzmatazz in 2020 and Gloom Division in 2024. The project has toured as a headliner and shared stages with acts such as Waterparks, Silversun Pickups and Joywave, and played festivals like Reading and Leeds, while Dallon Weekes has retained a songwriting approach focused on the song format and the project’s visual identity.
