The Cribs
The Cribs are a trio from Yorkshire formed by brothers Gary, Ryan and Ross Jarman, and a prominent presence in British indie rock in the 2000s. The band quickly established themselves with a raw, garage-influenced yet melodic sound, driven by a DIY spirit that became their signature. Successes like Hey Scenesters!, Mirror Kissers and Men's Needs positioned them as a voice for a thriving independent scene. Their career includes a notable stint with Johnny Marr, who joined the group for the album Ignore the Ignorant and helped broaden their reach. Over the years The Cribs have built a cohesive and acclaimed discography, blending punk urgency with a keen melodic sensibility, culminating in Night Network, an album recorded after they returned to independence that revived a brighter, more direct sound. Still celebrated for the intensity of their live shows and their genuine bond with audiences, The Cribs remain a cult act of contemporary British indie.
