Noisia

Formed in Groningen, the Netherlands, Noisia brings together Nik Roos, Martijn van Sonderen and Thijs de Vlieger around a dense electronic sound that moves between drum and bass, neurofunk, techstep, breakbeat, dubstep and, at times, forms closer to bass music and house. Active since the early 2000s, the trio first made its mark in the drum and bass scene with productions featuring very refined sound design and a tense rhythm, before broadening its scope to remixes, production for other artists and music for film and video games, notably on DmC: Devil May Cry in 2013. Noisia also developed its own structures, including Vision Recordings, and led side projects such as I Am Legion with Foreign Beggars, culminating in a joint album in 2013. Their discography under this name includes Split the Atom in 2010, Outer Edges in 2016 and Closer in 2022. After the announcement of the group’s end in 2019, extended by a farewell tour until 2022, the three members pursued separate paths before relaunching Noisia in 2026. In its different periods, Noisia has kept a writing based on rhythmic impact, dark textures and a very precise construction of tracks, both in clubs and in more narrative listening formats.
