Camo & Krooked

Based in Vienna, Austria, Camo & Krooked are a drum and bass production and DJ duo consisting of Reinhard Rietsch and Markus Wagner, active since the mid-2000s. The Camo & Krooked project first grew on the European scene through dancefloor- and neurofunk-oriented maxi singles, before gaining international visibility with releases on the British labels Breakbeat Kaos and later Hospital Records. Their first full-length album, Above & Beyond (2010), established a fast, energetic aesthetic centered on tightly rhythmic drum and bass, while Cross the Line (2011) broadened their palette to include vocals and structures closer to electronic pop. With Zeitgeist (2013), Camo & Krooked incorporated references to house and electro while remaining rooted in drum and bass tempos; Mosaik (2017) further emphasized atmospheres, textures and mid-tempo passages. Usually presented in DJ set format on festival and club stages, Camo & Krooked also pursue numerous collaborations, notably with Austrian producer Mefjus, with whom they expanded their sonic explorations in the Modus project, blending drum and bass, slower bass music and cinematic elements.
