London-based drum & bass producer and DJ Audio, born Gareth Greenall, has since the early 2000s developed an approach focused on the darker, more technical sides of the genre, between techstep and neurofunk. Initially active within the Resonant Evil project and noticed on the UK drum & bass scene, Audio later pursued a solo career that led to releases on several specialist labels, with a strong presence on Virus Recordings and then Ram Records. His album “To the Edge of Reason” (2009), followed by “Genesis Device” (2010), established a sonic signature built on taut rhythmic structures and highly crafted basslines, further refined in 2016 with “Soul Exodus,” which sharpens that dystopian, futuristic register. Both as a DJ and in the studio, Audio favors efficient, direct constructions designed for clubs and frequently collaborates with producers rooted in the same neurofunk aesthetic, firmly positioning him within the international contemporary drum & bass network.
