Marina

Initially performing under the stage name Marina and the Diamonds, Marina (Marina Lambrini Diamandis) emerged in the late 2000s from Wales, moving between Brynmawr and London, at the crossroads of indie pop and electropop. Noticed through demos posted online and then with The Crown Jewels EP in 2009, Marina developed a world that blends immediate pop melodies, new wave touches, and lyrics focused on identity, power dynamics, celebrity, and personal relationships. Her debut album, The Family Jewels (2010), established this aesthetic, continued with the more narrative concept of Electra Heart (2012) and then Froot (2015), with more organic arrangements. Under the name Marina, the artist followed with Love + Fear (2019) and Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land (2021), where the political and ecological dimension became more pronounced. Marina occasionally collaborates with producers and groups from the pop and electronic scene, such as Clean Bandit, and performs regularly in the United Kingdom, across Europe, and in North America, where her tours have built an international audience around this solo project.
