Lady Gaga

Born in New York in 1986, Lady Gaga—whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta—has developed a body of work at the crossroads of mainstream pop, electronic dance music, and songwriting influenced by rock and cabaret. Trained on piano and shaped by the New York club scene, she began by writing for other singers before signing with Interscope and releasing The Fame in 2008, an album driven by an aesthetic that blends pop culture, performance, and glam imagery. The EP The Fame Monster (2009) and then Born This Way (2011) signaled a broader turn toward electropop and dance, with nods to 1980s pop, while Artpop (2013) explored a more experimental path, fusing club music with visual culture. In parallel, Lady Gaga cultivated a jazz side in duets with Tony Bennett on Cheek to Cheek (2014) and Love for Sale (2021), revisiting the American standards repertoire, and moved toward a more organic pop sound with Joanne (2016). The Chromatica project (2020) marked a return to writing steeped in club culture and house. Active on major international stages, Lady Gaga alternates tours, Las Vegas residencies, and acting work—most notably in American Horror Story, the film A Star Is Born, for which she co‑wrote the soundtrack with Bradley Cooper (2018), and House of Gucci—cementing a multidisciplinary profile in which pop music, performance, and cinema remain closely intertwined.
