Mika
Born Michael Holbrook Penniman, Mika is a British pop singer-songwriter. Born in 1983 in Lebanon, he fled with his parents to Paris before eventually settling permanently in London. Raised on the music of Queen and Prince, he learned piano and took voice lessons. He later enrolled at the Royal College of Music and, during a trip to the United States, met the Bee Gees’ sound engineer, with whom he recorded the track "Grace Kelly" (2006). Upon its release, the song quickly became a hit, propelling Mika to the forefront of the pop scene and launching his international career. Mika’s debut album, "Life in a Cartoon Motion," was a commercial success, selling around five million copies worldwide. After an extensive run of concerts and festival appearances, Mika returned to the studio to record his second album in 2009, "The Boy Who Knew Too Much," another success that further cemented his reputation. Three years later, and after thousands of shows, Mika returned in 2012 with the album "The Origin of Love." In 2013, he set out on a worldwide promotional tour, with notable slots at the Garorock festival, the Sziget Festival (Hungary), and Le Printemps de Bourges.
