Based in Toronto, LOSTBOYJAY develops a project situated between vocal house, melodic tech house and dance music with a direct writing approach, featuring club-ready productions but built around very legible refrains. Active since the early 2020s, LOSTBOYJAY first drew attention with 'Could Be Wrong', a track released in 2023 on Polydor Records UK, which broadened his visibility beyond the Canadian scene. His music weaves together clean basslines, dry rhythms, effective buildups and accessible vocal lines, in a format that links the energy of today’s electronic circuits to reflexes inherited from classic house. LOSTBOYJAY continued in this direction with 'Say Goodbye', released in 2024 via D4 D4NCE and Defected, confirming an aesthetic centered on dynamic club tracks, without clutter and designed to circulate between dance playlists, specialist radios and nightlife stages. LOSTBOYJAY thus sits within a generation of producers for whom the boundary between mainstream electronic music and club culture remains porous, with a distinctive, functional and instantly identifiable sound.
