Kim Petras
Born in Cologne in 1992, Kim Petras developed an early interest in Anglo‑Saxon pop before moving to Los Angeles to build a career as a singer‑songwriter. Kim Petras works within pop and dance‑pop strongly marked by electropop and club culture, with tracks focused on immediate melodies, repetitive choruses and imagery drawn from nightlife, partying and digital pop culture. From 2017, a series of self‑released singles brought her to international pop and LGBTQ+ scenes, preluding the mixtape "Turn Off the Light, Vol. 1" (2018), "Clarity" (2019) and the full album "Turn Off the Light" the same year, which explores a dark, horror‑inspired aesthetic. She followed with the short‑format EP "Slut Pop" in 2022 and the albums "Feed the Beast" and "Problématique" in 2023, which continue an approach oriented toward electronic pop and direct song structures. Her collaboration with Sam Smith on "Unholy" (2022), honored at a major international awards ceremony, increased her visibility while keeping her at the intersection of mainstream pop and club culture.
