Kacey Musgraves

Born in Sulphur Springs and raised in Golden in east Texas, Kacey Musgraves has been writing since childhood, took her first steps as part of the duo Texas Two Bits and was noticed in 2007 on the show Nashville Star. After several self-released projects, she signed with Mercury Nashville and developed a country songwriting approach centered on storytelling, open to folk and pop, with a restrained delivery, regular acoustic arrangements and, at times, lighter or more ethereal textures. Same Trailer Different Park (2013) established this blend, followed by Pageant Material (2015) and A Very Kacey Christmas (2016). Her work as a songwriter also appears on other artists’ recordings, notably “Mama’s Broken Heart” for Miranda Lambert. With Golden Hour (2018) she broadened her scope toward a more fluid country-pop, sometimes tinged with disco nuances, then Star-Crossed (2021), more clearly pop-oriented, and Deeper Well (2024), which has a more stripped-back tone. Kacey Musgraves has also collaborated with Miguel, The Flaming Lips, Zach Bryan and Noah Kahan, and has moved between the Nashville country scene, festivals and tours alongside artists from broader backgrounds such as Katy Perry or Harry Styles.
