Sierra Ferrell

Born in Charleston, West Virginia, Sierra Ferrell grew up surrounded by country, bluegrass and American popular music before spending several years on the road busking and playing small venues across the United States. After settling in Nashville, she became part of the contemporary Americana scene by blending traditional country, folk, old‑time, bluegrass and touches of jazz and swing, with a strong taste for acoustic tones and older song forms. Following several self‑produced recordings circulated online and on the independent circuit, Sierra Ferrell signed with Rounder Records and released the album Long Time Coming in 2021, which formalized a repertoire already honed in concert and showcased particularly refined vocal and string arrangements. In 2024 she extended this aesthetic with Trail of Flowers, mixing slow ballads, waltzes and more upbeat numbers, confirming a deep rooting in roots music while leaving room for personal songwriting and intimate storytelling.
