Feu! Chatterton

Feu! Chatterton is a Parisian band formed in 2011 around singer and lyricist Arthur Teboul, bassist Antoine Wilson, guitarists/keyboardists Clément Doumic and Sébastien Wolf, and drummer Raphaël de Pressigny. Their name, inspired both by the English poet Thomas Chatterton and the exclamation “Feu!”, neatly sums up their approach: a blend of lyricism and raw energy. The group made an immediate impact with La Mort dans la pinède, a track of poetic breadth and rock tension that announced a distinctive identity in the French scene. Influenced by Bashung, Barbara and Gainsbourg, Feu! Chatterton mixes finely crafted lyrics, haunting melodies and sonic explorations where rock, pop and electronic touches intersect. Their debut album, buoyed by songs like Le Malinche, Boeing and Fou à lier, confirmed their command of language and staging, while tracks such as Souvenirs, L’Oiseau and Ginger extend that alliance of musical intensity and literary depth. With dense writing and refined instrumentation, the band embodies a rare form of French poetic rock—both modern and timeless.
