Slow Fiction

Based in New York, Slow Fiction began to take shape in the early 2020s around five musicians bound by friendship and a shared creative environment. The band operates in an indie rock register with post-punk and noise-pop accents, featuring taut guitars, dark melodies, and writing that prioritizes tension, introspection, and dynamic contrasts. In its tracks, Slow Fiction couples a dryness inherited from 1990s alternative rock with a more contemporary sensibility, without tipping into melodrama. After several singles and establishing itself on the New York scene, Slow Fiction released the Crush EP in 2024, a format that more clearly fixed its aesthetic between electric urgency and more restrained melodic motifs. The quintet participates in a natural flow between club gigs, indie scenes and DIY networks, where its identity has gradually taken shape. Slow Fiction thus develops compact, direct music, propelled by a tight collective performance and a way of shaping the sonic texture that remains at the heart of its evolution.
