Swapmeet, the Adelaide quartet, brings its indie rock to Berlin’s Badehaus on November 2, 2026. The band plays with a flexible distribution of roles: guitars, bass, drums, and multiple vocal parts intertwine, as if the songs in the rehearsal room were still being refined together. From this exact setup arises a mix of jangle-pop, shoegaze, and 90s alt-rock: glossy, lightly blurred guitar textures, a nervous drive in the drums, and melodies that oscillate between airiness and dense noise. After the first releases and the EP Oxalis, Swapmeet have taken the next step and are working on their debut album, whose sound already glimpses through in newer tracks: controlled tension, subtle noise edges, and this sense of departure, when growing up, first breakups and hesitations suddenly tilt into clear refrains. Live, it comes across less polished than in the studio, with plenty of energy and a keen sense for dynamics.
