Babehoven

Based in Hudson, New York, Babehoven develops an American indie rock sound with slowcore and folk inflections, built around muted guitars, restrained rhythms and Maya Bon’s vocals. Maya Bon’s path—via Portland and then Los Angeles before settling in the Hudson Valley—parallels Babehoven’s evolution: the project began as a trio with Skyler Apia and Elias Williamson and contracted to a duo in 2022 with Ryan Albert. Babehoven’s early releases are the EPs Sleep (2018) and Demonstrating Visible Differences of Height (2020), which establish an intimate, pared-back songwriting style with discreet arrangements and an unshowy melancholy. After the EP Nastavi, Calliope, Babehoven issued its debut album Light Moving Time in 2022, followed by Water’s Here in You in 2024. On stage, Babehoven sits within the North American indie rock and indie folk circuit, with activity that notably expanded around a tour announced alongside Skullcrusher.
