Info
Paula Cole brings her “This Fire: 30” show to The Deaf Institute in Manchester on February 27, 2027, revisiting the album that put her voice and writing front and center in the 90s. Expect a set built around the tension she does best: stripped-back, intimate passages that suddenly open into fuller, band-driven moments, with that mix of pop, rock, and folk always nudged by her jazz training and instinct for improvisation.
It’s also a chance to reconnect with songs that defined that era of singer-songwriters, including Where Have All the Cowboys Gone? and I Don’t Want to Wait, alongside a broader look at the paths she’s taken since: socially sharper material from Amen, later independent releases, and her more roots-minded explorations of American song. Special guests round out the night, keeping the focus on songwriting and performance rather than nostalgia.
