Paul Cauthen lands at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver on October 22, 2026, with his distinctive blend of country, Americana, and Southern rock. Hailing from East Texas, he first made his name with the duo Sons of Fathers before striking out on his own. On stage, everything rests on direct songwriting and a markedly baritone voice, capable of moving from taut ballads to leaner tracks, with arrangements that sometimes lean toward gospel and soul. From My Gospel to Room 41, then Country Coming Down and Book of Paul, his repertoire keeps that taste for stories, dust, and choruses that grab hold without overdoing it. In the opener, Leon Majcen sets a different tempo: stripped-down folk and songwriting, nourished by the American tradition. Born in Prague and having spent time in Florida, New York, then Nashville, he advances with songs centered on storytelling, the road and the landscapes of the South, in a vein that nods as much to Townes Van Zandt as to John Prine. An acoustic, no-frills set, perfect for setting the stage.
