Info
South London band Fat Dog bring their wired live show to Whelan’s in Dublin on 18 November 2026. Formed in 2020 around singer Joe Love and now a five-piece, they fuse post-punk grit with dance-punk drive and hard-edged electronics. On stage, tense synth lines and rave-leaning beats push the pace while saxophone riffs twist toward klezmer, giving their songs a jagged, hypnotic swing built on repetition and release.
Before their first official tracks, Fat Dog were already turning heads with gigs; since then they’ve toured alongside Sports Team, Yard Act and Viagra Boys and joined the Domino roster. Singles like King of the Slugs, All the Same, Running and I Am the King, followed by the album WOOF., map out a sound that leans as much on rhythm as on noise. At Whelan’s, expect a set that blurs gig and party, where raw energy, looping grooves and oddball detours keep the room moving without letting the tension drop.
